I'm really pleased to have been invited to take part in this year's Collect | International Art Fair For Contemporary Craft & Design (26th February - 2nd March) with Design Nation as part of their twenty makers of 'Exceptional Craft for Exceptional Times.'
This year Collect will be taking place digitally through both the Collect website and on Artsy where several virtual booths hosted by international galleries will be showcasing and selling an expansive collection of craft.
I will showcase three wall pieces with the main piece being the ‘Hydra’ wall hanging. 'Hydra' takes inspiration from a misunderstood monster of Greek Mythology 'Hydra of Lerna', the serpentine water monster who was reputed to be an entrance to the underworld. Using two warps layered on top of one another and creating blocks visible at the top of the hanging, and a warp-exposed area at the bottom revealing the beautiful rippled layers of undyed British wool in shades of whites, greys, and Welsh black.
